Amazon brings the 7 and 8.9 inch Kindle Fire HD tablets in 170 countries, including the Netherlands and Belgium. Today the company announced that customers can order the tablets, in these countries the delivery will take place June. Until now, the tablets could be ordered only in the U.S. and some major European countries.
Both tablets come in two variants, with 16GB and 32GB storage. The larger of the two tablets has a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels, weighs 567 grams and has a dual core processor of 1.5 GHz. The device is on sale for $ 284 (16GB version) and $ 314.
The 7-inch tablet has a resolution of 1280×800 pixels, weighs 395 grams and has a 1.2 GHz dual core processor. The 16GB version costs $ 214. For $ 30 more you get sent the 32GB version.
Both the 7-inch and the 8.9-inch Kindle Fires run on a highly customized version of Android. They are equipped with the Amazon Appstore, which thousands of paid and free apps are available. You also have access to documents via the tablets on the Amazon Cloud. All the digital books you buy from Amazon can be read directly on the tablets, which are read pages and notes synchronized between all devices on which you read. The tablets you also have access to a large number of films and television series.
