Amazon launches new Kindle Fire tablets and e-readers – Telecompaper

Amazon has a number of new tablets in his Fire series, new e-readers in its Kindle line and an update to the mobile operating system announced. For example, a new version of the Fire HDX 8.9 tablet, which now features a higher resolution and a faster 2.5 GHz processor and that is for sale starting at $ 379. In addition, there will be two new versions of the Fire HD tablet for sale, with a screen of 6 or 7-inch, for rates of 99 and 139 dollars respectively. The Fire HD Kids Edition is a tablet designed specifically for children with extended warranty, which is also sold in a 6 or 7-inch version for $ 149 and 189 respectively.

The new tablets run on the new OS 4 Fire Sangria, which is based on Android KitKat. The new version of the operating system features the ability to set up multiple profiles for different users and provides Family Library, which family members share content. Owners of the previous generation Fire tablets get the update offered as a download. As for e-readers Amazon offers a new Kindle Voyage for $ 199 and a new version of the ‘regular’ Kindle e-reader, with a faster processor, for $ 79. Amazon is not active on the Dutch market, but was rumored to be preparing for a launch of the Fire tablet and Kindle e-readers in the Netherlands
