Twitter releases Vine for Amazon Kindle Fire - Tech2

V ine has finally awakened to the Possibility That it could be left out in the cold as Instagram’s video surges ahead. After a tons of new updates and mailers to Twitter users, Vine has made its debut as a free Kindle Fire app over the weekend.

Vine is entering unchartered territories here and Instagram has beaten to the punch too as there’s no Instagram app for Kindle Fire yet. It seems like a logical step for Vine to launch on Kindle Fire since the tablet run a forked version of Android, and the port from Android would have been fairly easy. Wonder what’s stopping Instagram from doing the same.

Now available for Kindle Fire

The application requires Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and up to run, making itself available to all but the first generation of Kindle Fire tablets. Vine for Kindle Fire is incidentally the first tablet-optimized version of the app. Neither the iPad nor any other Android tablet has one.

The release comes at a Crucial time for Twitter and Vine. Ever since Instagram has added videos to its app for Android and iOS, Vine has seen a steady dip in shares. In response, Vine seems to be bolstering its ranks. The Android version of the app just gained the ability to use the front camera to shoot videos too. We will not be surprised if 10 apps for BlackBerry and Windows Phone 8 are usefull around the corner for Vine.

You can grab hold of Vine for Kindle Fire from Amazon’s Appstore for Android .
