Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2015 – Tasty tart read – Total Computer

The summer is the ideal time to finally read a book. Nowadays, you go of course not lugging books and take you an e-reader. Amazon heeftn et released a new version of the Kindle Paperwhite. Is there still something to improve on an e-reader?

Amazon recently launched the third version of its Kindle Paperwhite e-reader. Externally there is no difference with the previous generation, which in turn is little different from the first embodiment. The only difference you see when you turn: Amazon has just been chosen as top model on Kindle Voyage for a 6inch screen with a resolution of 1072 x 1448 pixels. This will take you 300 ppi, the same sharpness as printed matter. Admittedly, Amazon had the Paperwhite still contain these higher resolution to respond to Kobo’s Glo HD which is comparable in price with the Paperwhite. 4: Kindle Paperwhite We recommend you to purchase its case

The minimalist casing feels strong and at the back is rubbery finish. which e-reader from slipping out of your hand. I should also advise you to buy the accompanying leather case (about 30 euros). An E Ink screen is in fact much more vulnerable than, say, a tablet screen.

tastier read

The screen uses E Inks Carta technology and has good contrast so that the screen is easy to read. The increased resolution compared to the previous model visibly sharper, but not earth-shattering. Buy now an e-reader, choose especially for a 300ppi screen. Have an e-reader, you do not immediately run to the store. As pretty much Amazon has lights built any modern e-reader which you can read in the dark or ‘paper’ day can do exactly whiter tones. Another big improvement on reading comfort should come from improved typography engine in combination with the new typeface designed by Amazon Bookerly. This font was designed by Amazon to watch on screens. Bookerly is fine readable, but a big difference with other fonts I do not own brand.

1: Kindle Paperwhite The backlit screen is fine read

Touch

The Kindle Paperwhite still has only an on / off button and you serve him. then via the touch screen. This works very well happy: it is a capacitive touch screen that reacts well and just copy what works better than the infrared-based screen of the similar Kobo Glo HD. In addition, the device is also very smooth. While reading, you can tap the right page turn and tapping the left to scroll back a page. Additionally, you can make sweeping motions. If you tap while reading somewhere in the upper half of the screen, open the options menu which you can set include the font and lighting. These lights work well, a difference with Amazon Kindle expensive Voyage is that the brightness level of the backlight is not automatically adjusted.

2: Kindle Paperwhite The back is rubbery finish

Now Dutch

Not only e. reader itself is well put together, the ecosystem feels good. Amazon’s Kindle platform makes it very easy to buy books on the e-reader. Purchase your 3G version of the Kindle, then you have anywhere via 3G free access to Amazon’s bookstore. Since the end of 2014 also Amazon offers through Amazon.nl English books, for that time was the biggest drawback of the Kindle that you could not buy books in Dutch. Still there is no support for ePub and so you can not purchase books with other providers. It is, for example Calibre possible ePub files to convert to the mobi format that you can read on the Kindle.

Conclusion

Kindles second generation Paperwhite was a fine e-reader, but with the third generation Amazon brings him all the time. Compared to its predecessor, you get a better screen and more storage memory. The improved screen is certainly visible and for me a bonus for new buyers. Have an e-reader, the difference is not earth-shattering. Especially if you already have a copy with light, the increase in use is small comfort. Are you going to buy an e-reader, the choice is quickly between Kindle or Kobo. Compare your Kindle Paperwhite with the Kobo Glo HD, then the Kindle just float and touch screen better. All you need is missing in the Amazon support for ePub files like that are for sale at most online bookstores.
