In October 2014 Amazon introduced a new service which the public can help decide which authors receive a publishing contract. In March, the first 10 ebooks are published through the program.
A total of 21 books Amazon has already chosen who were nominated by the public. The first 10 books are from March 3 for sale and can be booked already. The authors of the books given a five-year contract, a deposit of $ 1,500 and 50% royalties on sales.
For the readers who voted on the chosen books are there to get free ebooks. The authors have after five years, the ability to protect the rights of their own book to get back. This is the case if a book has brought in five years at least $ 25,000 for the author.
Through Kindle Scout authors can in 15 minutes to upload their book. Amazon then assess the book qualifies for a public campaign.
