Amazon Kindle Oasis offers the ultimate reading for true luxury reader – Numrush

H et happens maybe only a few times in your life: you are convinced that something really could not be better, but that image is still beaten to smithereens against all odds. Such as ice cream and gingerbread. Or when you first read a book on Amazon Kindle. US book giant, however, goes a step further and wants the new Kindle Oasis achieve that ultimate feel with their own product.

Since the launch of the first Kindle in 2007, Amazon set itself a daunting task. With the introduction of the e-reader US company raised the bar very high. And while the company with each new generation bar refuted higher with new improvements, the key question with each new version continued: “But I must explain my current Kindle for on the side?”

Amazon’s. e-readers are from the first introduction already acclaimed for their ease of reading and how the e-ink screen almost comes across like ink on paper. In 2012, Amazon finally put the standard with the introduction of the Kindle Paperwhite, the first e-reader that offers the same standard in reading comfort, but with the screen lit up in a very comfortable way without external lights. Unique experience

With the introduction of the third generation Paperwhite in 2015 it became clear that there would be for the majority of electronic readers a go-to e-reader. With a starting price of about 8 bucks for a Kindle or 130 euros for a Paperwhite and a Dutch shop for ebooks will choose the majority of consumers of these e-readers once they choose the quality of Amazon.

Yet we see some years that Amazon chooses to move themselves to the utmost to offer a very unique experience to a group of extremely avid readers. The company launched the Kindle Voyage in 2014, the first Kindle with a glass touchscreen, LED backlight which automatically adapts to the environment by means of a sensor and two pressure-sensitive sensors in the sides of the reader so that you can navigate through your book without a having to move a finger.

US media called the Voyage at its launch “by far the best Kindle which Amazon has ever made,” and praised his crisp screen. Nevertheless proved the difference with the Paperwhite in practice little and were soon questioned lodged with the price difference of nearly 60 euros for the entry level.

Luxury and comfort

The same question was of course everyone on the lips when Amazon in May launched a successor this year, the Kindle Oasis. With a starting price of 290 euros is a tough course obvious to scratch you behind the ears, but in practice everything is different. Ice cream, pepernoot.

The Oasis is an epitome of luxury and comfort. The first impression can be confusing: it is square now? And why is he on one side thicker than the other side? But when you have it once in your hand, you realize just how uncomfortable other e-readers feel in your hand.

It has to do with the way the Oasis minimal weight divided creatively. The 130 grams of the Oasis are a shadow of the 200 grams weighing the Paperwhite, but especially by design ‘leaning’ Oasis much more in one hand than the other Kindle. As a kind of double beaten magazine or paperback so.

Cover

The major drawback, however, that this ultimate feeling alone achieved when you use the Kindle Oasis are supplied without cover. Which included – leather – cover closes namely seamless and magnetically into the narrower part of the Oasis and transfers the weight to a small 230 grams

The cover adds to the luxurious feel and protects your Kindle so on. of anything and everything, but the most comfortable reading experience you have absolutely no cover. And although you can easily detach the cover thanks to its magnetic closure, there is a special reason to use him: it is an extra battery

Without cover offers the Oasis about two weeks reading on a full charge. battery, but thanks to the external force from the cover of the Oasis can even 9 weeks on a journey without an intermediate load IMG_7210

Impressive battery life

Ten compared to its predecessor, there are considerable differences between the Kindle’s. The Oasis has always offered a 6-inch display with 300 ppi e-ink Carta HD technology. Unlike the six LEDs of the Voyage Oasis has no less than 10 LEDs on the sides of the screen. But where the Voyage lamps arranged automatically via a sensor, the LEDs at the Oasis always and must be adjusted manually

The pressure-sensitive sensors are of the Voyage -. As some reviewers had already predicted – expire and replaced by two buttons on the thicker side of the Oasis. The controls are typical of the better reading experience: you can now Kindle can hold in one hand and with the thumb through a book to browse. And exchange your hand, then turn the built-in accelerometer automatically your book and turn the control it

According to its website, the Kindle Oasis on a full battery (and including cover) guarantees “for months reading ‘, in total the device would thus be able nine weeks along. Which intended life sounds almost impossible, in practice, the Oasis will often go faster to the charger, especially if you – like me during the first tests -. Not in airplane mode sets and the wifi and 3G antenna thus remain active Kindle

However, the Kindle Oasis impressively long, and it also has to do with a number of tricks which Amazon has built to conserve battery life when not in use the Kindle. Did your Kindle before into a sleep mode when not used it for a few minutes, even Oasis goes after one hour in a hibernation mode, a mode in which the processor virtually come to a halt and the memory is even eliminated.

Disappointing for all badlezers: although you might expect that Oasis would be waterproof for a price of nearly 300 euros or higher, that is unfortunately not the case. Extra careful at the beach, poolside or at home in the bath so.

Under the stripe Kindle Oasis is an absolute ‘wanna have’ for avid readers and lovers of well designed and fully functioning technology. It is the Aston Martin among e-readers, where the Paperwhite is the Gulf. The current generation Paperwhite is the absolute go-to ereader for the largest group of readers, even the most enthusiastic lovers of the written word.

Do you have a White Paper at the moment? Then there is absolutely no need now to save your piggy piece for the Oasis. But if you are looking for the ultimate reading and budget are available, do yourself a big favor and consider the Kindle Oasis.
